yep, today my buddy eric purchase a *mint* condition 98 Sportsman 500, he looked all over for a used honda, lol, we called at least 6 dealers and none but 2 had used quads, lol thats not good for buisness is it? so he went with the sportsman, we got my Xplorer 400 a new clutch monday and got her all pieced back together, and did a lil riding tonite, everything on mine and his works great, very fun ride, his sportsmans got some *****, more than i used to think they had, and its not even an HO, i was impressed, he seems to like it, has no regrets, keeps up with the 400 xplorer in a drag and top end, wont pass it, but keeps up well, gots lots of lowend, very nice on the trail! all in all its a nice quad, never thought i get this thick headed honda boy to cross over, o ya he still has his 85 350X trike, he rebuilding the top end rite now, so hes still likes his hondas but o well!

I spent a lot of time on a pair of 85 Honda 350x trikes. Man those things were fast. When it was still fairly new my Scram 500 wouldn't beat one, and the 350 was old as heck at the time! That motor would be nice in a nice light quad with 4wd

I wonder why your buddy could'nt find a used honda? It's more than likely because their the most reliable machines, and most people keep their hondas for many years. A perfect example is your buddies 350X. I hope he has half the relability with the polaris as he has had with his old honda.

 

I was just going to post the same thing!!! Hondas retain a higher resale value because thier owners love 'em and keep them forever. Its easy to find a used bike that noone wants!!!

.... weren't you just preaching "reliable". Can't you read? You know, you're right. Reliability is great, it comes in real handy when I need to mow my lawn! If honda would lock their front ends and give their machines some ground clearance then maybe you would be on to something, BUT right now and for the last 10 years honda 4WD's are nothing more than over priced lawn tractors without a mower deck!

When we ride, the Honda's are always the first ones to get stuck, it's funny at first but after awhile you start feeling sorry for them.

Hondas are reliable. That seems to keep coming up. Not much else about them. Like having big power and ground clearance and awesome tires and great 4x4 systems, like Polaris. Reliable is a selling point for old people buying a new station wagon. When will they come up with something more? My lawn mower is reliable. My 700 is not as reliable, but it's much more fun on the trail.

 

yea i agree if honda would do something about there 4x4 i would look into one, i ride with haz, we have 2 friends that ride honda 4x4s i always laugh when i see then on a hill and one front tire if off the gound, sure enough thats the tire it spins, lol my 94 300 2x4 is almost the same thing, need one chain to a front wheel and i'd be set (says honda) there motors will almost out last anything though, i wil give them that they r great quads, but the only thing i hate is there "all time 3 wheel drive system" just my .02cents

 

LOL, figured id get them *snappy* replies from all you loyal honda boys, lol, sorry to say but u jump to conclusions, i love hondas, i ride them quite often, and like them, they are very relialbe yea, but they have there downfalls, and no im not saying a polaris is way better, but all you honda boys just like to put us Polaris riders in the dirt, cuz ur hondas are so great, personally, the honda guys that i ride with, bout all they can do over me is go in a lil deeper water without troubles, i can fix that, but i dont wanna cuz my dad uses the quad alot, im not talking smak bout honda,they have proven themselves to be a great quad, im not trying to start some huge 3 page arguement, but u honda boys need to take a chill pill, i mean one bad thing gets said bout a honda on this forum, bam all you honda boys jump up and say how great ur quads are and how polaris dont have a chance, i mean cmon, why does it matter, theres ups and downs to both, take it easy, im sorry i just found it kinda weird, that honda didnt have any used quads, i personally just think there should be used quads, and no its not hondas fault, i was just shocked, dont get all bent outta shape and come in talkin crap bout us polaris riders cuz we aint talkin crap bout your rides, if you wanna talk crap, please stick to the honda forums, cuz whe dont need that, this is a "informational" forum, not a HONDAS ARE BETTER THAN POLARIS forum.
