You are saying that when you put it in reverse and dont push the override button it stalls right?. But when you push the override button it runs fine in reverse.

You may have to follow the wires to the panel and try and disconnect it.Later.

It has something to do with the ignition retard system and it should idle in reverse and move backward some (with backfiring and sputtering) without the button depressed. I don't think you should try to override it as it is a safety feature. If it was like this when it was new maybe you should play stupid and go to the dealer, they may help you cheaply or may tell you what may be wrong

the ignition retarder is ruined and needs to be replaced, sometimes they go out, i forget if its separate form the CDI or not, you might need a new CDI.

If you dont mind not having the liminator in reverse, then you can easily override it. All you have to do is unplug a wire. Then to get 4x4 in reverse without holding the button requires spicing some wires. Very easy to do.
