Try the ultra-light battery from HPD. It will save you about 10-15 lbs.

If your bumper and floorboards are steel than that is another place you can drop weight. You can pick up an alum. bumper and remove the floorboards. Just leave the rear bar to mount a footpeg to.

You can shave a huge amount by changing your swingarm to ONE OF THESE..

Also, if you can get away with it, lose your stock airbox set up and go with ONE OF THESE.

I have had these two items replaced and you wouldn't belive how much they weigh!!

Along with those other ideas, you can also get a front bumper from a 4x4 unit, the later ones were aluminum and inexpensive. You can also ixnay that 11 lbs up front (oil injection tank) and get a pump block-off plate. Removing the starter and having your flywheel shaved helps the revs. I have an opened up, aluminum snorkled airbox w/ K&N and outerwear to sell. Pre-mix at 40:1. Try HPD-inc.com for engine mods, and Hotseatperformance.com for suspension mods. Lot of great people here to learn from. Have fun!

GregV, just curious, how much did the stock swingarm and airbox weigh?

Also, if you go with the thin film battery, make sure to add a bit of foam around the unit to help dampen vibrations/impacts. Helps the life.

Another thing, if you can five finger discount some titanium and have a buddy machine it for you like Ken does, you can really lighten it up. Just kidding,Ken.

Bubba, my account with Mettec and other sources runs long, and that's with receipts to prove that. Keep watching the ATV Sport pages, you'll see all the sources. Especially after the laptop/radar detector walking away, theft is a bad deal. E-bay even has Titanium surplus aviation gear.
