Default Predator Problem

Well, it finally happened, I've got a problem with my Predator. The lettering on the oil cap is rubbing off. I don't know if Polaris will warrent this part, but I hope so. I'm afraid to ride it now. hehe
All kidding aside, anyone wondering about water injestion, I can tell you first hand it can go through a lot! I had it in water that was a little over halfway up to the seat, figure the lower half of the engine was under. I never injested any water at all, never missed a beat. If you want to see what kind of crap I put it through look at my photo link. You will see mine and a yellow Raptor all messed up! The Raptor was going through most of what I was going through, but it started running funny at the end of the day. I think he might have gotten some water in it or maybe just fouled the plug. He is out washing it now, then going to change the plug.
Has anyone changed the plug on the Predator yet? Just wondering how to do it. Thanks all!

Will your predator get through the same level of rough terrain that your scrambler would? I have always had 4wd polaris quads but want something faster and that handles better and at the same time get through most rough terrain on long rides. I guess I want the best of both worlds. I am considering getting a KFX 700 or polaris 650, Your thoughts?

There is no way that my Predator will go through what my Scrambler will go through. It was fun playing in the mud and water with it, but it's just not the same as a sporty 4x4! I'm going to be getting a new Scrambler 500 4x4 next for the wife to ride, and for me to plow snow in the winter with. I really don't know much about the 'utility' 4x4's out there, so my 2 cents wouldn't be worth it for you.

Prox Predator you have to pull the gass tank to change the plug.

Pulling the tank is simple
1. Remove seat
2. Remove side pannels( May not have to do this but I did since I had to replace my Throttle and Choke cable)
3 Turn off gas, slide clamp down fuel line, and remove fuel line.
4. Remove bolt at rear of gas tank
5. Lift the back of the tank while sliding it to the rear. Becareful you don't hook anything with the fuel valve.

There will be a little bit of gas that runs out of the hose once disconnected.

Spark plug is easilt accessible after this.

Just another suggestion, remove the front plastic so you don't do any damage to the studs on the tank. 3 screws and 1 min later....oh, yea two plugs for the headlights. Easy stuff.

You will need a 5/8 plug socket with at least a 6" ext. to get to the plug. Its sunk way down inside the head. If you don't have a plug socket a small magnet will work to get the plug out of the hole once its loose. The plug boots on these things are like 4" long so that tells you how far it is to the plug. I haven't had to change any plugs yet, just checked it to see how it was burning when I rejet'd the carb.

LOL Thanks Modquad.

Sorry I ProX I forgot about the front cab because mine has been off for almost a month. Modquad was right, it only takes 1 min, 15 seconds if you use a cordless.

I figured I would have to take a bunch of stuff off, but I plan on trying my hand at jetting, and I want to be able to check the plug here and there to see if I'm getting it right or not. I'm gonna get the airforce kit, so I know I'll have to do some messing around after that to get the mix right.
