04sportman 700 question

Default 04sportman 700 question

does anyone have a heel clicker clutch kit in there 700 and is worth the money ive read a bunch of forums on the kit nobody has an consistant answer ive heard some pretty tall tales on top speed i can get 55 at roughly 1/2 mile but it gets upto 50 right now and then falls flat it is running at 6000 to 6200 rpms will this kit help my acceleration and top speed i dont want a pipe or a bigger carb just was wondering how that kit is alone

dude, if your 700 is only goin 55mph then theres something wrong... my sportsman 400 does 58mph, and the 700 does around 72 with the clutch kit... i think u got a lemon, man.

Nah, he may just have some clutch or jetting issues that need to be dealt with.

nutzer,
that speed and the amt of time to reach it is not right unless
you're at a high elevation.. might need different jetting or might
have a carb issue... are u above 2000'..

Sounds like you have the clutch problem that some new 700's have. Take off the side cover where the clutch is and check the plastic nut on the front pulley and make sure it didn't back off, this happens on some new quads and your 700 should do a lot faster than you say. Mine is getting faster and runs better all the time.

i love my sportsman 400.. great machine with plenty of power and torque, and pretty good speedwise...nice machine

thanks for the responses just got back from rideing i have about seven hours on it now seems like its getting better when i tried that 1/2 mile run there was about 3.5 hours on it how far of a run do you guys go for top speed and has anyone run heel clicker kit and how reliable is it and is it hard on the belt ...... thanks nutzer
