Best Slip-On for Predator
#1
Hello, I am a recent Predator owneer and I asked questions about what is the best pipe and exhaust and all of those questions. Now i heard that a slip-on is the best way to go. Now for this question. What is the best slip-on pipe for a predator?

Yes, that is the Million Dollar question. It would be nice if more companies would sell their products with some dyno info...it would really help move their products!! I am also curious, but right now it's mostly opinions as only a handful of companies have numbers posted.

Hi F&F,
I have a W/B slip on currently, but if I had it to do over, I think I would go with the HMF slip-on. In recent tests against about 30 other pipes on a Suzuki LTZ400, the HMF was one of the top power producers, over the entire powerband. I have spoken to several other HMF users, and they are all very happy with the results.
I like FMF and Yoshimura, but they are not really out there in use yet, to get a fair real world usage report. Although my W/B does make good power, it is very finicky to tune, and more complicated than an exhaust should be, in my opinion. I also like the fact that HMF openly posted their power output with their slip on the day their units were listed for sale. Yosh and FMF have been very slow to do so, and seem to already be making excuses as to why their systems aren't making "lots" of power improvements.
Read up on the pipe test in the past months issue of Dirt Wheels. It shows all the graphs and brands side by side, without the influence of the maker!..
Good luck,
JJ

Hi Geoff,
Ken probably knows more about that company. I have not ever dealt with them, just seen their ads. Their stuff for the Predator looks good on the web site...
I just keep looking back to the FMF web site and the relatively flat power band from their slip on. Did you get your CDI box sorted out yet???
Keep me posted!
Take Care,
JJ

I really like Aaen stuff, they are a good company, but I think I would wait it out and see what HPD comes out with as they are known to get more power from the 400 than Aaen is. I think it really depends on if you are willing to wait or if you want to go for it now, I think Aaen sounds like the best deal on the market right now.

G'day Pudl.
About 7 extra ponies.
Loud.
Very light.
Very good low down, extra power ( that's torque isn't it? )
Seeing that we carn't get the w/b to work on my pred, hopefully this will.
It may not be the best in 6 months when everyone else has theirs finished, but Aaen is ready now.
Or am I guilty of treating the symptons and not the cause.
All offers of help and counselling would be appreciated.
