Default sp 700 exhaust

just took delivery of my 2004 Sportsman 700. I have been riding a 500 for
nearly 6 years. I think "bigger is better". I don't care for the tone of the
exhaust on my 700. I would like to have a deep tone but not louder.
Any suggestions?? And is it worth installing a K&N air filter?

Try HPD. They have a complete nickel plated exhaust system. They claim that it puts out 90db. Or you can just get muffler itself. I cant speak for the 700, but my HPD exhaust on mu 500 scram is rated at 93db. It has a great deep tone at idle at roars down the trails when you open it up.

Was it on this forum that I saw a picture of a modded stock muffler. Modded so the outlet was the same size as the inlet and came right off the back....not down.

Thanks,

Rick

Yes that was mine.I just cut a 11/2 hole in the back and welded in a 11/2in piece of thin wall conduit and sanded and heat painted it..love the sound and you can really feel the power gain...Bill

I would suggest the Power Tech 4, by MBRP. It has a great throaty tone, it sounds great to me.
