I can get a good deal on a polaris 700 vtwin, but i am dead set on getting a performance quad for trails......i just want to know the pros and cons of this atv. Is it any better than say a grizzly 660 or what? Its either this or a raptor..

polaris 700 twin a performance quad? Thats a utility machine dude. I've ridden 1 and they're alot of fun. Never ridden a Grizzly though. It's a cool looking quad but I've heard of a few problems with it.

my bad dude, I misread your post. thought I read "...I'm dead said AGAINST getting a performance quad for trails." Anyway, if you want performance don't go with the Polaris. It's a fun machine and will go through anything, but it's big and kinda bouncy and heavy when you're trying to ride it like sport machine. I rode one for a day and just kind of rode around looking for terrain to conquer, hills, rocks, rivers, mud. It was fun. To me, it's one of those machines that you just drive around looking for things like that, you know, actually TRYING to get it stuck somewhere, so you can use the winch;-) Good luck with whatever you get.

 

we use our polaris sportsmans for trail riding all the time, and when we feel like it we use them as performance quads racing all over fields and ditches, very good performing machines, check this picture out. Polaris performing

 

Go with the 650 prarie. It will make that 700 feel like a boat .

 

The 700 is fast but it is extremely heavy and has no back up pull start.They are also very hard on fuel which can be important for long trips such as overnighters.
