Default Predator vs V-Force shootout part two.

Well today I was able to do a track, jumping, 660' sand times, and fuel consumpsion shootout between the two. The first was the track. The track is 3200' long with some sharp corners, 5 jumps, and a couple of fast sections. 5 laps were done on each, with the Predator doing it in 7:22.93, and the 700 was able to do it in 7:24.14. So I was able to only beat the 700 by 1.21 seconds in a little over 3 miles. so on the track, even tho it's not fully set-up for it, did quite well, and was impressed on the handeling. After this, my brother took the 700 for 17 laps, in which his slowest lap was 1:28, and his fastest was 1:26. So each lap, he was very consistant. At the end of 17 laps, he did it in 24:39. I did the same amont on the Predator, and my slowest was 1:30, while my fastest was 1:27. So at the end of 17 laps, I did it in 25:19. My brother Is a little better then me, but he said he had a blast on the 700.

Now to jumping. On the small to medium size, both flew true and landed nice. Did not have any unnerving flights. On the larger one, with about 5' in the air, with a flat landing, both flew nice, but the landing of the 700 was a little harsh compared to the Predator. A couple of times, the 700 bottom out with the shocks set on the middle setting. But other then that, they both felt nice.

Now to some 660' sand times. One thing I can say about both bikes, the Razors and Holeshots stink in the sand. But with both having crappy tires in the sand, it still made it even. The 700 did the 660' in 11.06, while the Predator did it in 11.02. Not much difference, and I know the times look slow, but both just spun. My brothers piped Z-400 did it in 10.69 with his radial stock tires. They hooked up real well for a stock tire.

Now for the fuel consumpsion. The Predator did a total of 22 laps, or 13.3 miles, plus two 660' runs. It used up .91 gallons of fuel. The 700 did 17 laps, or 10.3 miles, plus one 660' run. It used .94 gallons. so with all the driving around inbetween, I would say the Predator drove about 14 miles. So that would give the Predator about a 15mpg. The 700 drove about 11 miles, giving it about 12mpg.

So all in all, I'm very impressed with both atv's. The predator, for being 200cc less is able to handle it's own against the 700. The 700 for being a auto and shaft driven, plus weighing 100lbs more, can do just as good as the Predator. Either bike would put a smile on a persons face. But neither one will blow away the other. There both very even in most area's, while each excells in a certain area, but not by much. I have one more test to do, and that is the trails. Maybe Sunday. By then I will know which one I will keep. So until then, have fun.

The track is at my job site in Merrimack NH. It's a 99 lot subdivision, in which on phase 2 I was able to make this track knowing it will be at least a year before they start building. I made the track to get in shape for a GNCC race on May 10. My brother and I are Planning to go to PA to race. Just don't know which atv to bring. We plan on riding there next weekend, if the weather is good. Hopefully it will rain on Friday, because the job site gets dusty quick. I will let you know later on in the week, about riding next weekend. If it's too dusty, I have to please the neighbors, but if not, I will let you know.

The only place that his 400 can get me is in the sand, other then that, I beat him. His stock tires do very well in the sand. But, his Z does go very well. He also beats me on the track, but since he's been riding sport quads fo at least 10 years, and this is my first, a lot of it is the rider. He was getting allmost the same times on the 700, as he was on his Z, and both were better then mine. So a good rider can make any quad look good.

Yes the dicision will be hard, but either way, I will have a nice quad. But right now, the 700 has the edge, mostly due to my bad foot. No shifting, and has reverse. A big plus for a gimpy person.
