02 500 scrambler pipe & clutch kit....whos?
Im new on here so hang in there with me.....Im sure this question has been ask a thousand times!
I have a bone stock 500HO scrambler and I want to wake it up! I assume a pipe and clutch kit is the way to go but whos got the best combo?
Im a hot rod trail rider and this is a 4x4 bike. I want a hard pull off the bottom end and have a strong pulling mid range. I dont want to loose any top end but I dont have to increase the top end speed. The trails (logging roads) are to unforgiving in northern Idaho! LOL
Would like to hear as many oppinions on the best kit as possible.....Thanks

Check out hot seat performance, Aaen's or HPD, they specialize in polaris mods which include the 500ho. If you want to go to extreme then check out four-stroke tech. they carry big bore kits, 600 & 628cc. The mods I have installed so far I am happy with there performance, and have some other ideas in the works!

Your best bet is to go with the HPD Powermaxx exhaust, HPD aggressive clutch kit, and K&N filter with outwears. The HPD pipe comes with the new jet for the carb. Here is a link to the HPD website. Give Rick a call at call at RCR He is a distributor of HPD products. The pipe is $305. The clutch kit is $155. The K&N is $35 at Rocky MT ATV and an outwears is $10. So that is $505 for everything and the Hot seat performance kit is $550. The HPD pipe is nickel plated and a lot better performing. I may have gained a few MPH, but I definately got there a lot faster and have to hold on a little harder.

hmm......commision.....that sounds good. But honestly, When I was looking for an exhaust, I did a lot of research and asking qustions. In addition to HPD and RCR, HSP and Aaen have exhausts. All of these places have good products, but HPD is just a step above the rest. Plus, Even though HPD doesnt have a "kit" when you price everything out it is almost $50 cheaper than HSP's "kit" and the pipe is even nickel plated. I have found a product and company that I am very happy with and will recommend them to anyone, not that the others are bad. You would be very happy with the Powermaxx exhaust. Great gains in low to mid range torque. On HPD's dyno, it increased the HP to 4.5 HP. Others claim more but dont show any dyno charts. And the header pipe is almost twice as large as the stock pipe. Believe me, you won't be disappointed with it. Any other questions feel free to ask.
