02 or 03 700?

I would probably go for an 03 if it was $1000 cheaper than an 04. I think the major changes are just in the plastic, running gear is still the same. I even like the looks of the 02/03s better, just my opinion (maybe because I have an 03).

I misread your quote, the 04s are already out, I saw some at the local dealer. The 02s and 03s are really identical except the 03s only have 3 grease fittings and the 02s have many more. The 03s have the leaking water pump cover issue taken care of.

I don't know about pricing on the 04s, that is usually negotiable at our local dealer so it would be hard to pin down a real out the door price. Have you checked out the MSRP on the Polaris website and compare to 03 prices?

Most of the changes between the 2003 and the 2004 are cosmetic. There is now a tach option that can stay on while riding on the 2004. On the 2003 you can only view the tach in diagnostic mode and as soon as you put it in gear it goes out of diagnostic mode to normal mode. With the release of the 2004 the price on the 2003's that the dealers have in stock will be cheaper. You should be able to get a 2003 SP700 for the price of a 2004 SP600.
