Default K and N filter

Does anybody have a K and N filter in a
03 TB 250. My dealer sold me one. And when I went to place it on. I realized it was way to big. I contacted corporate K and N. And they advised that they do not make a filter for above mention model.Yet the dealership says that they put them on as part of there mods. I've heard of the TB 400 having one. If not K and N, then could you suggest another brand. One that would fit the 03 TB 250.
Thanks.

My 2 cents on the K&N are not good. I use either Twin Air or UNI, nothing else.

I agree, I used K&N for a while and when I took it off to clean I could scrape away dirt from my intake... Not good. I swapped with UNI and it filters way better. K&N has a lot of false advertisement. I couldn't tell a difference in power between the two filters. UNI costs half as much and performs better, so why K&N??

I went with K and N, because thats the one my dealer suggested. Come to find out. K and N dont even make a filter for the 250 that I bought. I'm new to all this. But the dealer has been selling Polaris since 1988. Seems like he should know that K and N dont make a filter for a 250. Anyway. I'm taking it back today. I guess I'll just stick with the stock filter for awhile.

I have 2 2003 Trailblazer 250's with a K&N on them with the prechargers. They take the PL-1004 model.

I'll go and check out the part you suggested. I wonder why K and N is saying that they dont make one for the 250. Below is the reply from K and N.

Dear Customer,

We do not offer a replacement air filter for your application. Please check our web site at www.knfilters.com it is updated with new products every Monday.

It is probably a number for another model that fits the TB 250. With my airbox mod I am running a Twin Air filter that is originally for a 250R.

I also use a bolt on K&N filter on my moded TB. For me it has worked really well. I tore my motor down over the winter for additional mods and the cylinder looked perfect. The factory cross hatches were still on the walls. I ride in alot of very dusty and dirty conditions. I have been using the k&n ever since I bought the TB.I also use the outerwears. If the filter is properly cleaned and oiled there is no reason why it should not work.
