Default Vulcanizing

I had a small rip in the sidewall Titan 489 tires (Cheap tires will replace with Rawhides when the wear out) so I took it to a tire shop to be Vulcanized. The guy said it would be just like new. Does Slime work good and would it fix a small sidewall tear? I carry a plug kit and pump. What are the pros and cons of using a Slimelike product?

Slime will seal a pretty big puncture, up to the hole made by a 1/4 inch bolt, in my experience, but it isn't much good at sidewall tears, unless they are very short.

I put a good size tear in the sidewall of my 489 AT tire. There are pictures of it on my site. I wanted to still be able to move it around so i took the tire to my auto shop class and used a bias ply patch. It actuall took 2 patches on the outside and 2 patches on the inside. It held air for about a month before I took them off and got new tires.
