Flat Spot
#1
Ther is a big flat spot in my 425 magnum in the bottem end. The top speed doesn't fell that good either. It had stock jet, aaen megaphone, polars white clutch spring and a UNI filter. Can i fix this by playing with teh air screw on the carb. Some days it will work really good and others it will beslower than my 160 quadrunner.

i screwed around with the air screw and it did nothing. Then i checked the air box to make sure that there was nothin in it. And then i loosened that screw at the bottem of the carb and turned teh fuel on and off a fw times. When i turned the screw on the bottem of the carb (not the air screw) i think that it was gas that leaked out. What does this do??

if you're getting a fuel leak and hesitation on bottom or top end, you may
have a cllogged carburetor.. also check your spark plug.. I change mine
out every season for insurance...but sure sounds like your carb might
be gummed up with bad gas or gas that has sat too long.

The screw you turned is the drain for the float bowl.Try changing your needle setting.raise it one notch andd check it out if that doesnt help lower it a notch from where it origianlly was. This is a real pain but just remember you aint he only one who has had to go through it.I had to too but I finally got it lined out.

If you have to drain it again go ahead and drain all the gas ouut and start over with fresh fuel. Hope you keep it lined out.
