Got to do a test ride on one at a dealer a couple years ago when they first came out with the commander. My impression on the suspension over rough terrain was that it was really stiff. Nice as far as acceleration and steering went. Another guy there with me said the same thing. He owned a RZR and he said he'd take the Polaris over the Can am. Maybe they've fixed that since then.

Of course, if you're just going to ride it over loose dirt piles cough*sand*cough, it would probably be ok.

That's the Commander. I got to drive one for about 15 miles up in Jackman, ME. Felt the same way about it. The newer one, that's a direct competitor to the RZR is the Maverick. Long travel suspension, 800 or 1000 cc Rotax.

wheel base is a big consideration for me on the Maverick

They're releasing the 2014 RZR on the 29th. Maybe a version to compete with this?
