Friends dad had a hybrid F-250 with a 460, His gas mileage was about 5mpg. 302's are great motors. Do know that everything on an engine is relative, it's all in a circle if you upgrade the cam you may need stronger valves, which means more fuel being combusted at a higher rate which means the pistons need to be upgraded, then the rods won't be able to handle it and that needs to be upgraded. My uncle raced pinto's back in the day and rebuilt his first race motor 5 Times! before everything was upgraded to where it would'nt fall apart. If your gonna build it do everything at once. Good Luck.

oh yeah dude i can go on for hours about that **** hahaha... as a matter of fact, i just built a 460 for a friends 78 Bronco on 38's. 550-600 hp on no power adders! basically everything was replaced with aftermarket racing parts (except the iron heads, oddly enough, however they were seriously ported). cost 3 grand in parts haha. thats why im leaning more towards the sbf or a turbo v6, but i just dont wanna get associated with the ricer crowd with that v6 if you know what i mean :/
