Don't worry Willjoe, it's just that subconscious defensive reaction from those of us (still) riding quads designed when Reagan was president. Do you really mean a 250X 4 stroke, or the 250r 2 stroke ? If you are indeed comapring the 250x to the lt250, the lt250 is MUCH faster.
The 250X was a bulletproof machine and handled great, but no power. The lt250 2 stroke would be easier to do any work on the engine..etc.
As far as dependibility, depends on what kind of shape there in and how much they were trashed.
