Best starter quad for my kid
#1
My son is 7 yrs old and currently rides a KTM 50 Senior and he is going to be to big physically for it soon. He has told me that he wants to get a quad instead of another motorcycle. I am thinking we will be looking next spring so he will be 8 yrs old then. I know that some people will say that he is too young but I dont think so. Anyway please give me your opinions about a good quad for him. Thanks.

You would probably be better off with a Pred 90. More room to grow. Our 11 year old started on it. He is now starting to ride the bigger toys. Our 5 and 6 year old run around on the 90.
Make sure you are watching for grip as you get into bigger quads for the kids. I have noticed a problem with them reaching the brakes!

JuJuBean is right. We got my daughter and son Honda 90's when they were 9 and 10. They out grew them VERY fast. At the time they were too small for anything bigger. I would highly recomend the honda 90. the are pretty fast for a mini. They'll do about 27 mph. We had zero problems with them. But if I were you I would seriously consider a bigger ATV, especially if he is big for his age. I'd recomend the Honda Recon or 250EX or the Suzuki Ozark or Z250. My wife has the Recon, my daughter has the Ozark. Both are good quads. The Ozark does everything a little better than the Recon. If he wants a sportier quad, go with the 250EX or the Z250. Good Luck!
