I picked up some water wetter coolant additive. It suggests increasing the water to coolant ratio up to 85:15. Would this cause corrosion or some other problem? Obviously the freezing point will be higher, but it's 104 F outside and I'm not worried about that for now.

 

We run it in every liquid cooled bike and ATV we own. You really need a little bit of antifreeze to help raise the boiling point of water a little and to help with corrosion. The water wetter works really good, though. We get around 100 here and never a problem. I usually overheat before the quad does Bubba [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif[/img]

 

doesnt Water Wetter have a corosion fighter in it? i remember reading on like Summit racing it is made to run in race engines with water and there is a desiel verson w/ o the additive in it

 

The bottle says it has anti-corrosion chemicals. It recommends 100% water (no coolant) for racing, but recommends otherwise that some cooloant be added. Right now I'm using 50:50 mix with 2.5 oz of additive. I'm thinking about changing the ratio to 66% or 75% water.

 

Run it pure with distilled water, but remember to get anti-freeze in da mix when the cold weather gets here, um, I mean there, that's if it does get cold there, cause it sure get's cold hear, one time, I licked a stop sign for a dollar, and when my buddies left, well I was stuck, then I felt sad, then spring came, and this little bird........o.k. end of run-on.
