Graphics Kit, Please Help
#2
First line them up with some masking tape the way you want them to look, put your seat cover on last, this is the most adjustable piece to line up your graphics with. When you line them up to where you like them the most and to the point they seem to fit the bike the best get out a heat gun or hair dryer on the hottest setting should be good and start heating the graphic up on the end you will apply first to get it flexible and double check where you want it to go. When it seems flexible, start peeling the backing off and slowly start working it side to side to each end of the graphic working any bubbles out while working your heat gun over the graphic your applying in a sweeping manor. Once you got most of it laid out you can work out any discrepencies with the heat gun to push out any wrinkles and heat up any glue on any sections that don't seem to be sticking or forming around any ridges so well... The heat gun also gives you leanience to any screw ups so you can peel it back and move it around if you don't let it cool down yet. Once you have the graphics applied work over once more every part of it with the heat gun to warm the glue up and have the decal set in place. When you are satisfied with that, peel off your stock seat cover by taking out every staple from the seat holding the seat cover down. Then with your staple gun with not too long of staples, you don't need much, tack down each corner of the seat cover after roughly lining up the seat cover to get an idea as to how you want it to line up with the graphics, lay the seat on the bike... When you get it to where it should look good, secure the seat and stretch out any wrinkles and staple the cover down, double checking as much as possible with the graphics before putting too many staples down. Once your done you should have a sweeter ride with all the decals lining up like they should giving a nice clean look. Not some graphic kits don't have lines that flow into the seat so it won't be as picky when doing the seat cover, but this is the easiest item to move around. The graphic kit on the bike doesn't have as many places it can move around, they are pretty much formed around the gas tank and have little room to move it into a bad position really... Good luck, take your time, the heat gun may even help stretch the seat cover around too if it gets too stubborn!
