Default ATV vs. Bikes!!!!!!

I used to ride dirtbikes until I sat on a quad for the first time i loved the quad .Another bad thing about dirtbikes is that where we go trail riding the hills are crazy sometimes steep and rocky or steep slippery dirt.

Default ATV vs. Bikes!!!!!!

Most of the time I ride an ATV.

The modern dirt bikes have become so tall and the engines have so much HP at the sacrafice of low end torque, they aren't fun for me for trail riding..

If I want to go dirt riding I have an 1982 Honda XL500 and a 1975 Honda MT250. Both of these bikes have low seat heights. I can stop any time I want, put both feet down and admire the scenery. With either I can motor up any hill at just a few hundred RPMs over idle.

I suspect the manufacturers have gotten away from making trail bikes and replaced that market segment with ATVs. There is more money to be made in ATVs.

I agree, i dont like having bikes with such high power, id rather have it in a quad chassis, and keep in mind, if your not too small, an xr100/200 make great trail bikes, a 100 fit me like a glove, i loved that thing. Yet another GA rider BSA.

i agree to all of you guys i like quads way better than bikes but you say quads are safer but what if ur doing a hill climb which would you like having come back on you a dirt bike or a quad???

I love both......Bikes can definately go more places, and they actually can go thru mud better than ALOT of quads because their so light and have only two inline wheels. I like quads way better when its wet out and the woods is slick- way more stable and you dont have to worry about your front wheel sliding out on you, especially going over roots and stuff.

i wouldn't say quads are safer. it depends on the rider. i've had my DS on top of me once and i would much have rather had a dirt bike on me. i like the 4 wheelers because i can just idle around and don't have to put my feet down when i want to stop. as for hill climbing i was able to do a lot better on my YZ426 than on a quad. i do agree bikes don't do as well on sand, my 6 year old son will testafy to that. his PW50 and the deep sand don't go good together.

ok first off...the pic is a atc not atv...second that is not very high by the looks of it...and plus the bike is farther in the background so it could be a camera trick too
