TRX450R or YFZ450? That is the question...

TRX450R or YFZ450? That is the question...
hmm,
I have seen alot about both quads, and some say "I like the honda" or "I like the yamaha" ....
And if you now I am a honda boy, its not like I ONLY buy hondas, but I am wondering, which one? I want to get one of them very soon, and I was almost positive I wanted to get a honda TRX450R, but now that I read the Dirt Wheels articles, I am rethinking it...
In the Dirt Wheels article, it says "yamaha won the shootout" and when I buy a $7000+ quad I want to get the best. And I agree with the DW articles, "the yamaha looks fast sitting there" I would have to agree! When I first saw the photos that honda gave me, then I though, MAN, that thing looks sick!
But Honda is the better logo....(my $0.02)
But I am thinking about getting the yamaha. Yes, I have riden BOTH but I still can not decide. I think that I want to get a yfx450, because if I get into racing I need to BEST quad. And another thing is I see moer after market parts for the yfz than the trx. I did see in the dirt wheels that DG has some nice parts, but for the yfz, there are many more on the websites.
Its just SOOOO hard to decide! I am looking at the yamaha more right now, but me and honda are so tight, so I am not sure what to do.
I want your opinion...

in my opinion anyone who says that honda looks good is on crack or just one eyed it looks like the dvx400

before anyone posts anymore yes i already own a craptor it is slow for a 660 it is tippy my gearbox hasnt blown up yet but im sure it will soon and its the ugliest quad ever built and a 250ex could beat me

I have put in a few hours on a friends YFZ, and frankly, I don't really know what all the fuss is about??? It is OK in many respects, but sure isn't the "magic carpet" that the magazine BS led us all to believe! Riding is about HAVING FUN, and for my money, the Honda is going to be the way more fun ride! What did they say about the Yamaha.........the best riding position is STANDING UP! Sounds like lots of FUN to me, on a long cross-country ride!!!
My dilema is whether to get the TRX450, or hold out another year (or more?) and hope for a 650EX. I bought the Z400 because I got tired of waiting all those years for a new bike from Honda. The Z is a great ride, and I have no problem riding it for a year or even two, if Honda is serious about the 650.

Well I have ridden the 450R and I liked it. I would really like to ride the YFZ to compare but, The main thing you want to look at is which feels and handles better. Both are very good quads. I think that the YFZ has more speed potential but Honda is known for reliabilty. So just ride them both and see which one suits you best. No real advise on which to pick sorry.

Im with recon ranger, I want to have fun that is why I would choose the 450r. I am mainly a trailrider, sometimes racer, so I am going to try aand hold out for a 650ex.

I THINK EVERYONE IS STAYING WITH THE YAMAHA BUT I HAVENT RIDDEN THE 450R I KNOW HONDA HAS A LOT BETTER NAME AND RESALE!!!!!
In my opinion, I don't think you could go wrong with either choice. But for racing I would definately go with the YFZ. Just my 0.02.

Well, I can not see why people think that honda did not do good. Most of those people are in the yamaha forum. With all do respect, the yamaha guys think that since yamaha made a "ok" quad then they can go all over honda. Because honda has made better quads for a long time, and once they get a "ok" quad, they are thinking they need to scream..."they have a scream"
But don't get offended yamaha guys. I love honda and yamaha. I just am sick of this.
But I think that I should look at both. Thats my advice to myself. LOL But I think....RIGHT NOW...(may change) I am wanting to get a yamaha , but now, since I found out that the stupid DW article was wrong, then I might get the honda. But I think dirt wheels must have had a 600pound man on the TRX...and a 130Pound man on the YFZ....BULLCRAP! ! ! ! !
