20 hour break in period. don't pin the throttle for the first few hours, and don't keep it there for more than a second or 2 for the first 20 hours. as for the brakes, until you've used them a bit, don't be real hard on them. with my quad i just lightly tapped the brakes every once in a while during the ride to get a lil bit of wear on them. as for the suspension, pound the crap out of it. the sooner you find its limits, the better.

Make it work w/o abusing it. If you baby it too much the cylinder pressures will not get high enough to wear the rings in before the crosshatch is gone.
If you take it to the dunes you run the risk of scoring a ring.
Just ride it and if you have any long hills they are great for cylinder pressures. I have a powerline rd near me that goes from 2800 ft to 5400 in 3 miles. I go up this a couple of times then go home and change the oil.

for ur break in ride it for 10hrs not beating it and not babying it. go through all the gears and dont keep it pinned for more that a couple of seconds and dont do it alot. u should stay about half throttle.
