there is some stupid people in this tread, that have no idea what there saying

as for the ds being sluggish, slow, not nimble, too heavy, too big. heres what I got for ya, 2003 NEATV open C class champ out of 80+ riders, on a bone stock ds!

this year open B class 1st place right now with a 40+ point lead!
just thing before you speak!

It's ironic. Alot of the same guys who would say the DS is too big and heavy for trail use wouldnt hesitate to jump on a 700+ pound 4by4 and cruise. The only downside is a lack of reverse. And that, as anyone who's ridden a machine without reverse knows, just means you think ahead a little when it's time to turn around.

As for being cramped on other machines... Once you get used to a DS everything else feels tiny and insubstantial. The Kawasaki 700 is the only exception.

Everyone that I ride with (2 z400's, banshee (for sale he wants a DS), and raptor) say the DS is the most comfortable thing they have ever ridden. There are times when they can't keep up with me in the trails. I live in Michigan and do a lot of trail riding (120 miles in a weekend is not unusual) and I never regret having a DS.

question:

what do you think would corner quicker?

a corvette

or a corvette with 800 lbs in the trunk

what is easier to pick up when it gets stuck in the mud? a 500lb bike or a 400lb bike?

lol that wasnt really an insult...just a question bro!....i just dont see how i can be 6'4 and feel fine on my dvx...and your 6 feet and your knees are way up in your chest?...then you say that you only notice its bigger than any other quad when your loading it on your trailer? sounds like your just makin stuff up to make the DS sound better

The Corvette analogy just doesnt work and here is why. The DS was designed to be 500 pounds and handle it well. Take a YFZ and strap another 100 pounds on it and it would suck wind. I once had a Volkswagon Rabbit GTI, by your logic that thing would smoke a Corvette thru the corners! It had to weigh 1000 pounds less than a Vette. (Of course my Mini Cooper mightve given a Vette a run for it's money)

The DS is longer and wider than just about every other stock quad out there. It has more travel than any other stock sport quad. It's not for everyone but to say it isnt great for a heavy or tall guy would be a joke. It is perfect for them.

A person 6 foot 9 and 320 pounds could ride a Z400 and get used to it and probably do ok (if he didnt break it in half). But I still say he would be happier, and faster, on a DS.
