I am going to be getting rid of my quad(blASTER). I ride trails and sand pits also small hill climbs(70ft)and small jumps(5-8ft) and was wounderong witch would be the best overall quad for me.

I am 5'10" 145 pounds. also around how much would it cost to get a good used 400ex or kfx400 or z400 thank you for the help

 

well lest start off with a question *why is it htat all tall skinny guyz own blasters.... ? just an observation i have had.

the best jumper is by far a 400ex
most reliable... 400ex
fastest prolly the z400
cheapest *moneywise* 400ex
most comfortable to ride would be probably the kfx, but dont quote me on that one.
best woods bike - ex

SUGGESTION - go w/ the EX

PRO/CONS of EX:

PROS: smooth comfortable jumper/ride - cheapest on the market as they are underpriced when it comes to retail value *kbb is normal but ppl just underprice them* - most modifications out for them - most reliable - best in the woods, good for night riding - good weelier

CONS: no reverse - when u decide to sell it, you wont get your money back - air cooled - cant think of anything else

They both jump good. I think that the z is the better trail bike but you can't go wrong with either of them.

 

go with the z400

 

The 2004 400EX can be purchased new for $4500 plus whatever sales tax and registration comes to in your state. This is more bullet proof than Z400. Maintenance including valve adjusting easiest on 400EX. The 400EX has such a large oil cooler that Hon should call it an oil/air cooled bike.
Seems to me that the 400EX is by far the best deal for the money. If you think you will need substantially more performance than a moderately tuned 400EX then you should look at the Yam and Hon 450's.

 

wtf more bullet proof then a z400 i dont think so.

 

yeah id say the 400ex is more bullet proof and we own both the 400ex has been out a lot longer to prove this and it is very reliable and so is the z but the 400ex has been out for a while. what also makes the motor more bullet proof is the the 400ex is a simple sohc air cooled and the z is dohc liquid cooled which makes more to screw up

anyways back to the subject i would go with the z for the reverse low endness of dohc

well you dont sound like you have both if you dont think there nice because i really do have both and they are both awsome machines and like i said the ex has been otu longer and it has proven it self

 

i do like them both just like the power of the z more. both of mine are piped and jetted but the ex cant hang with the z
