I have a 88 TRX250X mostly stock and i need more low end power and higher speed but dont want to speed hundreds of dollars!

i Have to duble clutch it to get up some hills and it wont wheelie in less i pop the clutch or put my knee in the seat!

but it will hit 63 now

 

try piping it. and what is double clutching, ive heard that alot but i never knew what it was

 

Double Clutching isn't really needed. I think people mostly use that on certain races where you want to go from low cruise speed in
say 4th gear to take off speed in high 3rd quickly. I think the entire concept is to get the parts of the transmission to be realigned after
a shift and be at the same speed so you don't lose speed and take off quicker. Speed shifting could simply be used effectively with practice. Up hills,
you can simply give the clutch a quick slap to get to higher rpm's...but you might flip over backwards on that X if you do it. If I remember
right, in straight line racing you want to shift at the top of your torque curve and try to land it on it's way back up. The most optimal way
to go in a straight line. Someone correct me if I'm wrong on this.

 

ya if u wanna accerlate hard u gotta keep the engine on its power curve. always shift high in the rpms to keep the power up.

 

you all thing that doing something to the sproket teeth will help this problem?

 

yup a sprocket change will give your more top end or bottom end,but it wont give you both..

 

but if i make more low end will i loose speed?
