Default Still can't get my chain to fit !!! HELP !!!!

I am getting pissed off now ! I bought a new rear sprocket for my 300 EX it's a 36t and I still have a 13t up front but we can't get the chain to fit right. It is ither too loose or tooo tight and the carrier dosent make up the diff when I remove a link. With the link in and the carrier tightned all the way the chain is too loose but when we remove the link and we loosen the carrier off all the way the chain is too tight. Correct me if I'm WRONG but you do have to remove links in pairs right !

If everything you say is correct, your only option that I know of is a half link. Never really liked them, but never had one fail either.

The only half links That I could find are non o ring ones. None of the bike shops arround here have them I could only get it from a surplus store. Dose the carrier usualy make up the diff of two teeth on the chain ?

Trevor, everything I have worked on in my life, be it a bike, quad or piece of equipment, has room for a link and a 1/4 to a link and a 1/2 on the take up. Is this the case with your quad? I have no idea, I have never worked on a 300ex. I'm sure someone with more experiance than me will chime in and help you out.

I never got 13/36 to work on a 300ex. 13/37 will or get a 14/ 39, or in that range. 14/39 would be almost the same as 13/36.

I think it is DURT MUMMA She has 13/36 on her 300 ex. I am going to pick up a half link and see how that will work. The bike worked awsome with this gearing it's just the chain is too loose so a half link should solve my problem !

She is my neighbor. Yes her quad has 13/36 but it is lowered and that will make a difference when the swing arm is flat with the ground. Try the half link, I did put one on a old 250r 3 wheeler and ran it for a while.
