I have a DVX 400, and i was wondering, that if i have too much oil in the oil tank, will it harm the engine... just about 1/4 above the full line..

and i was wondering how many grease zerks are on it... i know there are like 3 on the rear shock, and linkage... is there more???

 

Did you check the level by placing the filler cap on the threads, and not screwing it in? Thats how z400 (same thing) are supposed to be checked. I was thinking the same thing when I changed the oil in my Z, but when i read the instruction manual i saw that they are very specific about how to check the oil. Idle 3 minutes-off 3 minutes- check with filler cap touching the threads but not screwed in. Give it a try.

 

yeah, i dont thread it in... the oil is so transparent, i got a little too much in it. just a 1/4 above the add line. How many grease zerks are on it? should be the same as your quad??

 

I think the three you named are it. I have been over mine thoroughly, and everything else seems to be sealed.

Don't overfill the oil! The pressure from returning oil will have nowhere to go, and you will start blowing seals. Friend did this on the 400EX, and blew the oil lines right off.
