I'm looking to get a sport quad this spring and wanted some advice on these 2 quad's. I'm a big guy 6'2" and 250 and will mostly use it for trails and some dune's. Which is faster out of the box and which is easier to modify?? Let me know the pro's and con's of these two.

 

Definalty a DS650. The KFX is fully auto, and you become bored with it. You might want to consider a Raptor 660, when you upgrade all 3, the Raptor really shines.

 

DS650 for sure. Like 86lt250rfatty said you will get very bored with the auto trans.

 

id say ds, there fast as hell, and theres just somthing about being able to use the clutch that makes it more fun lol. i get bored riding a auto becuase i wanna just start shifting........

 

If you are going to build an all out dune racer get the ds. Otherwise the Kfx is more of a caddilac than a maserati.

 

I'd go for the 700. I've never ridden a DS but I heard they are great quads. 700 is awesome on the trails and has great power. Perfect for your size. Put some performance parts on it and you'll be able to beat almost anything out there.

 

Ever notice they dont offer automatic in a Ferrari? it just takes the excitment right out of it! their both great quads, but i still think your going to miss the clutch..

 

Actually, I believe they have in the past. They offer f1 shifting now.

 

lol, yea, Clutchless shifting. thats amazing, it shifs withen 150milliseconds.

 

First Ferrari did have a conventional manual in the 360. Second yall have obviously never drivin a kfx700 or you would have a different respect. It is far far from boring. O well the topic at hand... DS is good choice if you have wide open areas very wide machine. Also has no reverse. This is a must unless you are circleing a track and sometimes it is nice there also. KFX700 is pure greatness for all types of riding of cource I am bias because this is what I ride!!
