The 05 is a Great quad, and know it is a trail quad king. I do alot of draging and trail riding.....this thing is hard to beat.

I agree with Raj.

If you ride on tight trails you might want a 300ex/Warrior

If its strictly track then 450r or a YFZ

Check out this months ATV Sport. They have a shootout between the Predator, YFZ, 450R and the Cannondale (whatever it is called now) The shootout is based on track and trail riding. 4th place is the Cannondale, 3rd place is the Predator, 2nd place is the 450r, and of course the YFZ-450 wins 1st place again. (the article is really good)

they hold thier own but are a little heavy. they are more at home in the trails with the raptor...hence the reverse (at least on the 05's) and rider comfort. good solid quad tho.

If all you're talking about is racing on the track, the YFZ450 is going to be hard to beat.

The (stock) 05 Predator is rated number one on the trail by Dirt Wheels. I agree...JMO. And the Pred handles extremely well and is very comfortable.

But, nobody rides stock on the track, so.....I don't know how well the modded Pred will do on the track against the modded YFZ. Maybe RAJ can comment on that?

I have beat a piped yfz, and I have been beat by a yfz. The one that beat me had more done then just a pipe. The yfz is a quick quad. But so is the Predator. It all comes down to hole shot, and if I get it look out. My problem is seeing blue sky, this will be fixed this weekend. I have a +3 swingarm comming. I'm not into bashing other quads, I have seen what the Pred can do....and what the yfz can do. I have never seen a 450R run, but taking a guess it would have to be close to a yfz.
