I was thinking of getting a Sport Quad instead of a Utility one, but I would need 4x4 to get around in some places. Are there any companies that manufacture a 4x4 Sport Quad?

Ive said Id never buy another new 4 wheeler but if someone does come out with a real sport 4x4 Id change my mind.
400 Ilb
40 hp
12 inches of suspension travel
Thats the basic specs for my true race /sport machine.
If they can compact/lighten the package for off road race pickups they can do it for atv's.

That's great and all, but what does that have to do with what I asked? Maybe you should re-read my post before you blurt out information that I really don't care about(no offense)

See this post for my opinions on the subject! http://forums.atvconnection.com/mess...did/462044.cfm

The only thing that even comes close is the OLD Yamaha Wolverine (05 and older), and it is far from perfect. The NEW 06 Wolverine is a poser that is nothing but a utility without racks. It is 100 pounds to heavy to have any kind of "sport" in it whatsoever.

In all these posts, there is always somebody who will say that their Polaris is one too. But sorry, a true sport bike has to have a manual transmission, and the whole Polaris lineup is way to heavy to make the cut. They too are just warmed over utilities.

Rumor was last year, that Honda was working on a light weight 250cc 4 wd. It didn't bebut last year, but keep an eye out next month when Honda releases its new models. (And don't laugh at the 250cc thing, because have you seen the horsepower that a CRF250 can put out??? When comparing engines of very different designs, displacement doesn't mean much anymore!)

I would go for the polaris Scrambler 500 and buy an aftermarket manual clutch kit to get back some of the power lost in an auto tranny, and mabey also buy some better tires.

And I agree 100% about the 06 wolverine just being a utility with new plastic and no racks.

I don't want to sound too stupid but what is a manual clutch kit for a polaris? I have never heard of that. The transmission does not have shiftable gears in it. What does a manual clutch kit do ? Not trying to start a fight just curious.

Ok, so now I'm all confused. Some people say that the Wolverine is great, while others say it isn't good. Does anyone have a video of it being rode or anything? I might have to just test drive it over at the dealership... which would probably be the best thing to do.

I don't know all the mechanical details behind a manual clutch kit for the Polaris 500, but I do know they exist, just like they sell auto clutchs for manual sports quads
