I have a kfx400 and want to purchase some handguards for it and im not sure what brand is best and if ther difficult to put on, thanks.

The best kind of hand guard for you depends on what you want them for. If you mainly want them to deflect flying dirt and block cold air a cheaper set will do. If you want them to protect you from heavier debris like tree branches along trails i'd go for the hand guards that have an aluminum bar that protects your hands. rockymountainatv is a good place to start looking.
