packing in the pipe

Default packing in the pipe

Is it true when the packing blows out of your pipe you can lose 1 to 2 hp

If not more! When you repack do not pack it in too tightly either. You need some give for the packing to work correctly. I have seen Dyno tests with the packing in so tight that the bike actually lost HP.

and when you blow the packing your bike will run lean because of the pipe opening up
