Power Now
#1
Okay I already posted this in the Suzuki forum but i didn't get much info so I'll post it here as well.
In my friend's new dirtwheels issue they have an ltr modded. As I was looking through what they had done to it, I noticed they had some sort of Power Now mod on there. Can't remember what it was called right now but they claimed the ltr doesnt have the low end torque of the other 450s, which this mod helped out a great deal... I've never heard of this mod before, anyone know much about it?

well it is suppose to work like the tornado in a car in "organizes air" it goes in the intake hose right behind the air filter. in the back of dirt wheels or atv mag something like that where all the adds are look around it will show you a pic and go to www.highlifter.com sells them they explain it a little better. as far as does it work ???????? i don' t know, but the LTR-450 isn' t as low geared as the others. i changed the gears from 14/36 to a 14/39. that helped ALOT. check out my pics

if you put a tornado in your car, or in any thing with a combustion motor, your going to see WORSE results, and if that peice of crap decides to fall appart in your airbox, your motor is going to grenade with it

The new PowerNow slices the single air venturi going into the carburetor into 2 smaller, faster venturis via the PowerNow's "Powerblade". Our revolutionary modification to our Powerblade assists the vacuum of the fast moving air by drawing the fastest moving air molecules through a precisely positioned hole in the plate, drastically increasing the speed of the top and bottom venturis entering the cylinder. With this new modified Powerblade, the result is volumetric engine efficency through uncompromised airflow velocity....................i don't think it goes into the carburetor it slices the air going to the carburetor....and i have heard they work and i heard there are a joke....i don't know

Two words "dyno" and "sheet"
Of course you never see those when the snakeoil peddlers come out.
And even when you do see dyno sheets, its usually a scenario like this:
We took a highly modified engine with a stock exhaust, and put OUR exhaust on and it picked up 12hp!!!!!!
You put "our exhaust" on a stock bike and it does next to nothing.

I disagre about the dyno's! Dyno's get totally misused. How do you do a dyno?.....you pin the throtle! ALL A DYNO TELLS YOU IS WHAT HAPPENS WITH THE CARB SLIDE WIDE OPEN.....nothing more. How many of you ride all day wide open???? They have their place, but the information has to be interpreted honestly. If every ride you do is a drag race where you pin the throtle and pop the clutch, well then maybe a dino is for you.....but you're the only ones. I know this isn't what you dyno junkies want to hear..........
The Power Now is meant to work when the slide is just opening. I don't think they make any claims that it does anything with the throtle pinned, so no dyno is going to show you that! I have several buddies who run the PowerNow, and they swear by them. I don't have one yet, becasue I just haven't gotten around to getting one. But now that you refresed my interest, maybe I'll order two this week......
