Jet kit help plz
#1
I am looking at putting on a slip-on exhaust. Well since i figure i may need to rejet it a hair i might as well rejet it w/o the airbox lid to get a lil more out of my investment. Should i invest in the jet kit? Or what exactly comes with a jet kit. It sounds like it comes with an assortment of jets that you may need right? BTW i ride a DVX400 and all i have done atm is K&N filter. Thanx for any help

As long as you won't be riding in wet conditions I would take the lid off. If you do remove the kit you will definately have to rejet. I don't know about other kits but the Dynojet kit will recommend settings for your setup and elevation. I used the recommended settings on my Z400 and they worked great for me (see my sig). I would also get some stainless steel allen screws for the carb float bowl, you'll probably end up stripping at least a couple of the screws when you rejet. I think they are 4mm x 10mm. It is worth the few bucks for the screws, otherwise I'd go down to the dealer and get some extra stock screws. When you take the screws off, be sure to put as much downward pressure as you can to break each screw loose. You may end up having to pull out the vise grips to get some of them off if you strip them.
