Ok so it is a fact that there will be a KTM branded quad. It is said to be out next summer. I have read that it is going to be for XC racing, I was wondering what yall's opinion was on this.

I'm pretty excited. To be honest i think i'd prefer my forth coming 'Law because in the experience i've had with the 500 Outlaw, it seems significantly faster in the corners than any straight axle in my group. not to mention ground clearance... But the tru KTM machine will be an amazing straight-axle no doubt. There's supposed to be a 50" wide 450 MXer released after the 525 too... You can be sure these will be top performers, but you'll pay for it... $$$

Actually the 525 is a great motor for flattracking, and the KTM quad will be SRA so no worries in the corners.

Rumoured price is around 9k for the 525.

Im pretty excited, I know for a fact there motors are very reliable and make big HP numbers, so it will be interesting to see what they come up with for a quad of their own design, its gonna be really expensive though...

*agrees* You'll definately pay for the performance. It's neat tho that Polaris will offer an IRS version and KTM will offer a SRA version of the same engine. I just hope the the KTM version will not be WAAAY more expensive than the $7300 for the 525 'Law. Otherwise that would hurt its sales, and i never like to see that when someone's bringing an awesome new product to market...reminds me of cannondale

Why a 525 instead of a 450? They aren't going to be able to race pros on it if it's a 525 cc unless the rules are changed. And we know that the only ones that pay for rules changes are the Japanese manufacturers.

They're building one of those too.
