That's an interesting question.. In stock form I'd bet you might get 3-5 more mph out of the Ren over the KFX (looking at possibly high 60's to low 70's). I really don't see the Scrambler being close. I do have a few dollars in my KFX700; 796cc w/ 11:5 compression pistons, Crower 254 degree cams, mild porting by Crower, FST CDI, FST Duel 44mm duel down draft carbs, Duel HMF Exhaust, Works Shocks, run VP-c12 or 110 octane...The rest is just bling...On the Dyno it did 94mph (now that's not reallity, no weight and no resistance) at 10,200 RPM...... Ride different bikes where you can, find what works for you....

Looks like you already are leaning towards the KFX700, I had an 400 scrambler and I liked it ok, sold it and bought the KFX700. Best move I could have ever made. Very happy with the KFX.

His KFX700, in stock form would do about 60-65...... My 400 would usually run him down at top speed, and they say the z400 will do about 65-68......
Of course now he just put on a jet-kit, K&N, and a Big Gun dual exhaust last week but we've not gone riding yet.... there is still about 4-5 feet of snow on the ground up here ........
But he also bought a Trail Tech, so now we will know exactly how fast he is going .........

Wow thats a slow kfx.When ive rode kfx 700 and they were stock they had no problem beating 400ex's, kfx 400 and suzuki 400 all day.Could it be the rider,im just curious is all.

I would get the KFX out of those two. I test rode a scrammy 500 with we got my wifes wolverine, and it didnt impress me much. The handle bars sat kinda low and funny, and it didnt have the pep I wanted. KFX all the way
