I was just wondering which would be faster in a 300 ft drag and which would top out higher.

 

A predator 500 would easily come out on top unless the 250r has an unbelieveable mod to the motor. The old atc's dont compare to the new technological atv's today.

 

I'd be willing to bet a good runing 250r would probably take a Predator, Predators have like what around 40hp? And 250rs had about 33 and only weighed like 280lbs compared to the 415 of the predator, and three-wheelers have less drag then four-wheelers.

 

in early advertising of the ATC AND TRX250Rs, Honda reported they had 40hp at the crank. i have a few bolt ons and i can spank a 660 raptor with my 86 trx; im sure the atc is faster (matter of fact i know it is) so once he gets traction, its over for the predator. sorry.

 

Ive seen so many 250r vs bike topics that I'm sick of looking at them because people say atc 250r's will beat all new racing bikes but wheres the proof? Its all word of the mouth, I think its about time to let the antique banned trikes die

 

Your just mad that something made 20 years ago will still whoop up on your Predator [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-tongue.gif[/img]. I really wish they hadn't banned them, just think of the quads we would have had today! I think it's sad that it took 20 years before they finally start making stuff that's better then TRX 250Rs

 

a predator would get beat by a tecate3 or 250r as long as the trike could hold traction and keep the front end down...

 

ROTFFLMAO who told you that.....your polaris dealer. name one thing on your quad that is cutting edge technology. let me see.....air goes through the filter through the carb(or throttle body) into the head past the valve , its compressed ,its burnt, then expelled through the exhaust.seems to me the same cutting edge ideas old henry ford had.a-arm suspension cotrolled by coil over shocks,chain drive,rear swing-arm with same coil over shock,same clutch system used since the early 1900's,yeah .... your right, they are NEW TECHNOLOGICAL ATV'S

 

My beat up Tecate is faster than my Banshee. A predator is gonna perform similarly to a Banshee. Trikes HP-to-weight ratio is better..

btw why did they ban trikes? were they too dangerous? I assume they would tip easier cuz of one wheel at the front and you can lean in like on a dirtbike because of the two wheels at the back

why do people always think of the 250r when they think about amazing quads from the past? people say it was the best handling quad ever, but what about the lt250r? sure there arent as many mods for it but, stock for stock they would be close to equal........
