Twist VS Thumb throttle
#2
I can never get used to a twist throttle, I hate it with a passion. i can't wheelie worth a sh*t with it and i seem to twist at bad times(going through whoops and loosing control)
if i bought a dirtbike i'd put a thumb throttle on it, its all about preference...everyone is differnet

I put a twist on my craptor. And it now scares me in the trees. Its great in the open or on a track. But when it gets rough and your trying to do technical stuff the quad throws you and its harder to maintain steady throttle. My craptor is purely set for WOT.

I'm with OFC on this one. In the dunes, wide open spaces or a nice low-speed cruise the twist throttle is great. But if you're trying to cut through some tough trails or take whoops in 3rd gear you're going to have some trouble. At least that's been my experience with my raptor.
I've got both and switch back and forth when I feel the urge. They both have their benefits and downsides IMO.

I like the twist well enough for the wide open cruising and the track and such where ist smooth.. Whoops. I ride wide open in 5th anyway so thats prolly not a problem either. Though i aint been in any yet dunes this summer.. Trails most defintly a huge advantage to the thumb. When your arm gets jarred with a thumb throttle its easy to maintain your throttle so you don't get the compounding effect of the jar plus let off or gas it. Also the middle ranges of throttle are easier to feather thru. Mind you i have a quick pullin twistyou don't have to move it much to be wide open. a slower one might be a lil better for tighter stuff but the senditivity is nice for other crap. all what ya wanna do. Trails i just wanna ride the 4x4 and cruise anymore.
