mid bore shootout?
#1
Does anyone have an online link to a mid bore shootout? Im looking for comparisons between the 400 class quads like the 400 ex z400 ect. I found one but it was from 2004 . Id like a more recent test like 06 or 07 thanx. Ben

All the shootout's that I've read all say the same thing. Z400 without a doubt! I would rather ride my Z than my 450R. Nearly the same power but the ride is so much better! The suspension and seat will let you ride when everyone else is tired.
The 400ex is a proven design but lets get up to date. The styling and detail on the zuke is complete. You cant go wrong with the zuke! Get the ex and you will be second guessing yourself all the time.

Well, there are only 2 of them, so not much to a shootout.
I had a 450R, Z400, and 400EX....all at the same time. I kept the R and EX, and got rid of the Z. That's the results of my personal shootout......
The Z is a quality machine, but it just didn't fit a niche in my stable. For some reason, mine always came off a jump nose low...always no matter what I did.

I don't know where you get your info from reconranger , maybe from the deal Arctic Cat had with Kawasaki and Suzuki ; being that Arctic Cat stopped using the Kawasaki V2 engine ! And the fact that Arctic Cat still uses the 400/500 and 700 Suzuki engines , but that's only because Suzuki own's part of AC's Stock and Kawasaki never did own any stock in Arctic cat ; but Kawasaki is still alive and kicking they will still be making their line of motorcycles and ATV's and the Rino ! The only difference now is that Arctic Cat isn't using the Kawasaki V2 engine anymore and AC is building more of theit own engine's , i don't know if it was a mutual agreement between Arctic Cat and kawasaki or not but you'll still see Kawasaki engine's in the John Deere's and a few Cub's ; just not in the AC lineup ! williebee

willie-Couldn't really make much sense out of what you said...it just kind of rambled all over the place. Go to the Kawi web site...there isn't any 400 there in the Kawi lineup anymore. The one that was there once upon a time...was a Zuki in green plastic...that's what he was asking....

thanx for the replys yeah i did some more research and got the whole story now. So im thinking pure performance 400 go with the z400 want bulletproof go with the honda but give up a couple mph. Im thinkin im going with Suzuki from what im reading it is very upgradeable. Ive also read that with very little work it can become a monster. Thanx again everyone. Bently
