Default Greatest Memory on a Quad

I was trying to think of my greatest experience on a quad, but its so hard! My top 5:

1. My first trip to Mio, MI on my raptor with my dad... awesome machine and a great trip

2. The first time I rode a Banshee

3. My first trip to Hatfield-McCoy in WV

4. The first time I rode my Quadzilla

5. My first atv purchase, when I bought that Warrior I thought I was a bad ***

Anybody else have a good memory?

Two that stand out for me are ...

1) Earning a trophy for second place at the Cherry Creek AMA National Hare & Hound Desert Race, on a DS 650.
2) A solo ride of 275 miles in one day, in the mountains of UT, on a Grizzly 700.

There are so many.......

I would have to say the best would be that first ride when I brought my Z home...... After riding a Warrior for a couple years and nothing but a borrowed Polaris Scrambler the few years before that..... my z400 was like nice welcome into modern ATV ergonomics. It made me feel like a kid again.

Of course there are others...

A solo ride on my Quadsport 230s back in 1991 from Landing, NJ all the way to the PA boarder and back (well almost I turned around when a Cop was parked at the end of the trail on the PA side) ......

Getting 14th place in my first ever XC (at 33 years old) race in 2004.... I know 14th stinks but I'm fat....and those young kids are fast....... and there were 10 people slower than me......

The first time I cleared a real jump, which was a 25-foot table-top.... scared the heck out of me but it was fun and I didn't crash.....

First time I rode a .......... Quadracer, Banshee, 450R, YFZ..... all a lot of fun.....

First time my NJ buddies came up to NY to hit our track-n-trails.......

And of course endless memories of the Landing crew...... those days on the tracks behind the GU were always fun......

Mmmm, there are so many....

Top 5

1982, getting my ATC 110 and having front suspension put on it....BADASS!!!

1982 as well, getting to ride across the freeway from Gordon's well to Buttercup to see the Jabba The Hut sand ship set for the new Star Wars movie: "Return of the Jedi" and later seeing it get blown up.

1983 Dad gets the all new ATC 250r and let's me take it out in the dunes and race other guys. Mom didn't like that....

1997 After 12 years away, I get a 1983 250r and resume my passion for ATVing.

1998 Buying my first "new" quad, the early release 1999 Honda 400ex.

2002 Flat out at 80 MPH during the FUD 24 Hour Endurance Race....3am, totally calm and relaxed as fast as the quad could go, then WHAM!!! Thumper made an ill advised attempt to jump past my bumper. Ended up shaving off 10 minutes for my segment over the daytime portion.

Best memory - The day i got my DS650, coming off a foreman 450. I took her out into the field and let her rip, i was scared!!
I have many other good memories of my buddies crashing/me crashing (nobody got hurt) just funny memories that we always joke about.

Testing out my 350x for the first time. My jump started me with my trx250 and we ripped up and down the street like wild people in the dark!

giving my now-wife a first real kiss while my dad watched from the far end of the sand pit. Ha! It was on the back of the 350x.

Taking my quadracer 250 out for my first ride the other day and seeing what a two stroke was

Taking turns going off jumps at the sand pit on the 350x with my brother.

Fourwheeling with my best bud on top of red hill......

alright, there's too many. I should stop!

Default Greatest Memory on a Quad

Best memory by far? The day I took my son to our favorite riding spot by Brainerd, MN , over 10 years ago, I had just gotten his LT80 back together, new piston, milled out reed cage,DG pipe, rejetted, modded clutch and new back tires. He was only 6, but had been riding it since 4 1/2, it was wore out,and couldn't hill climb for crap, we found a big, sandy hill he had never got up before, and that LT80 tore up that hill, spinning the tires and throwing sand all the way up. The look on his face is something I will never forget, smiling ear to ear, he then turned around and spent the next half hour going up and down that hill. He didn't stop talking about it for a month !!
