a 400ex would be a great starter. same with the z400 from suzuki. i got a 400ex and love it. ive heard lots of good things about the z400 too. i would get a z if i was gunna do all types of riding. and id get a ex if i was gunna mostly ride trails. cant go wrong with either though

Yeah, the Z400 and the KFX400 are the same bike so shouldnt they both perform the same since Suzuki made both of them...??
