well i dont know how anyone can say that the blaster is better or vise versa . they are each a little better at different things. And dont forget the cost. but i think what you need to do is go find a dealer that sells them both so you can compare them or find a friend that has one or the other. I personally love my 300ex and i wouldnt get rid of it for anything ive ridden a two stroke all day on the trail there not as nice for the trail its unbelive able how much more wildlife you see and people dont get mad oh well i geuss this is long enough

I have to chip in and say the 300EX.
A bolt on exhaust and a little jetting, and you can get a huge increase in power from the 300EX.
More reliability, reverse, and electric start. Oh, yeah, better Brakes!

jblough, Where did you see that a blaster goes 60mph?? In 4-Wheel ATV Action they said a Blaster goes 50 mph when it has a FMF Fatty Pipe Sparks porting and headwork they got the speed on slightly uphill with smooth sand.

From my experience, the 300EX is a superior machine. I have ridden both machines, both time in the dunes. The dunes are a real test of power. Granted, when I rode the Blaster it was in Glamis (big dunes) and when I rode the 300EX is was in Pismo (not as big dunes), but sand is sand and it still robs power. The 300EX was more powerful and easier to ride. Bottom line. The suspension was better, it felt like it had stouter and solid power. I just felt more comfortable riding the 300EX. I'd spend the extra $2000 for the 300EX.

Well if you put a expert rider on a Blaster and a crap *** rider on the EX who will win? I would like to read a quote from Dirt Wheels magazine, "Is the Blaster fun and easy to ride? Sure. Is it less expensive than other sport quads? Yep. Can it compete hoead-to-head with a Warrior, Mojave, or 300EX or 400EX? NO"And you get do anything to any bike to make it faster than any stock bike. But Bottom line is Blasters are good, but not good enough.

Have you considered a Mojave? 54mph, cheaper than a 300ex, reliable, very manuverable. A couple of easy mods and mine pushes 63.I like all three quads but for trails I personally prefer a four stroke. My two cents, just remember no matter what the forum says it will be yours and you have to be happy with it. Good luck- ride safe.

Honestly if you were going to buy each new i see no reson not to go with the Blaster. It has 17.9 hp against the 300ex's 15.4. the blaster weighs over 50 pounds less. (and taking out the oil injector and a few mods will get you down less than 300 pounds!) for about $900 you can buy a ct240 kit which makes 35hp. Much more than any 300ex and more than most 400exs too. Make no mistake a 300 pound ct240 Blaster will FLY. Add some holshots or turf tamers and PEP suspension with a slight swing arm extension and you have one bad *** Blaster for about as much as a new 300ex would cost. There is no way a modified 300ex can compete with a modded Blaster. Also if you'v ever ridden a blaster through the woods you know they cannot be touched through the woods. the handling is the easiest and lightest i'v ever felt. Yes even more so than the 300ex. And the Blaster has a very wide power range. It won't bog down and die like 2 stroke dirt bikes.
Its really a matter of personel taste though. If you want a slower revving 4 stroke with a better tranny and brakes, go with the 300ex, if you want a fast revving 2 stroke that can be modded to RIP, go with the Blaster. The only that sucks about the blaster is the rear brake, but you can get a hydralic disk for i think $295.
