I have to agree with 99 SCRAM 500. I would much rather have a cheeper quad that I could afford to modify and adjust to my riding style. No 300EX can come close to a Mod-Blaster in the woods. I've rode with enough to know.

Add the mods 99 SCRAM 500 is talking about and you've got a mean quad, less good brakes and reverse. But out of the box, the 300EX is a better trail machine. It's all a matter of rather you are into doing mods and pushing it around once and a while.

If not, go the extra 2-G for the EX, I think you'll be happier going un-modified on a 4-stroke, you'll do less repairs and gain reverse to boot!

AFTER RIDING A '00 MOJAVE, I THINK IT IS A BETTER CHOICE THAN THESE TWO. THATS JUST MY OPINION, BUT SERIOUSLY, YOU SHOULD CHECK ONE OUT. $3,995 WITH CHANGE LEFT OVER FROM THE EX FOR MODS. CHOICES..CHOICES!!!

Dude i'm only 13 but ive ridden both and the 300ex is way better. Its a better trail rider it handles better and the suspension and brakes on the blaster all around stink. So i would go with the ex its better. It may be a bit slower (a bit)but you wont have to worry about the 2 stroke maintenance.Four strokes for ever.

Go with the 300EX, Honda is the most reliable out there and I think all Honda owners will agree with me and maybe even some Yamaha owners. (maybe not)

Mojaves have more suspension travel than ex's, and blaster's, It handles better and probaly has better brakes. My mojave beat my friends 300ex on a moto-cross track

Well in ATV Sport the 300EX beat the Mojave. Not by much though. They both can use some improvements. I am not attacking Mojaves.

to KXF150-Have you ever owned a blaster. How would you know if the oil injector gets enough oil to the motor. Actually it is a little rich. Oh yeah, and have you ever thought out rejetting if it doesn't get enough oil. It annoys me when people think they know everything but really know nothing.

Oh yeah, a stock Blaster goes 54, a 300Ex goes 52

go here to prove it-

Blasters do respond to mods a lot more than a 4-stroke does!

The only reason a blaster will foul a plug is if it is running rich, which would really be your fault for not jetting it right.

Also the reliablity of a blaster is every bit as good as a 300ex. You will have some small problems with any 2 stroke. But usually not a big one.

Just my 2 cents, or more like 5 dollars!

Buy a Polaris 250 or 400...oops Sesame Street is back on...later!

Definitely a 300ex? How big of a guy are you? I hate the blaster in the deep woods, it's not near as stable, esp. on hill climbing or short completely verticle areas. I haven't been very impressed with the longevity of the blaster. If you've got the bucks, the 300ex is much better, but if you don't, the blaster is the best for the buck for a new machine.

OK first of all you guys are totally off. The blaster just straight up sucks. my friend had one and treated it good but the piece of Sh*T wouldnt ever start and then when it did start it ran horrible. I cant stand them. My friend sold his and got his 1998 300EX. And i have a 1999 300EX...they are soo much better...in every aspect they couldnt even touch us on the trails or track. 300EX ALL THE WAY!!!!!!
