Default extra gas

Do you guys ever strap a small gallon gas tank on the back of the quad in order to do long trips?

Yes we do. Hard to do a 100 mile ride on a ATV with a 60 mile range without a extra gas can.

Looks like it's hard to travel in TLC's trails without extra gas to melt the snow! :-O

It was a Kawasaki 300 Lakota.
They make racks for the 400ex.

I'm wondering how many of those 100 miles were in the same spot!

I shouldn't laugh tho, I've done a few miles with the back axle buried in the sand.

Look for a "6-pack rack" online...the companies who make those may also make racks specifically for carrying an extra gas can. You might also consider the option of a larger gas tank...less obtrusive, and better weight distribution

If you don't mind the cost, I've never had a gas can as nice as the Rotopax cans. I got 2-2 gallon flat cans that fit together in the middle and make a long one. 4 gallons will get me about 80 miles of riding. They strap down nice. My gripe with the regular cans we use is they tend to vent gas and let it leak out. Not good for the environment. We put 2-2 gallon Blitz plastic cans on my son's Renegade and the sun made them swell up and the gas managed to push its way out the cap by venting through the spout. The Rotopax didn't leak a drop.

I run a 4 gallon rotopax but you can get a 2 gallon gas and 2 gal water or first aid or a storage one for whaterver but stay with the rotopax brand as the kolpin have a bad tendancy to leak even if they send you a new spout.
