Default Big Guy What Size Quad

I am 6"5 and 300lbs and I have been thinking of getting a sport quad. I know very little about quads I have seen used Warroirs for sale and I like the look of them and the price is pretty low. I don't want to spend alot until I know if I am really going to be into quads. What would be a good fast cheap bike for someone my size?

Thanks
Mark

I would go with a raptor 660 or 700, whichever fits your budget. Large frame, good power

Actually, Unit probably has given the best option. Can-am hasnt made the DS650 for several years.. you will probbly be able to find a used one for pretty cheap.

DS650, absolutely. 660 Raptor, probably easier to find, certainly easier to find aftermarket parts for, another machine that fits larger riders well. However, I would look at Honda's 400EX as well. Great starter quad for a big guy with great handling, reliability, and decent power. Prices are rock bottom for nice earlier editions. If you keep up on maintenance you should be able to get a few years out of it and sell it at minimal loss. There are more 400s on craigslist than DS and Raptors combined.

At your size, something like a Warrior or 300EX would be good enough to let you know if you are going to get into it. This might be a good way in for less than 1K. You would almost certainly want to offload this either way down the road.

Only about 3 choices:
DS650
KFX 700
Raptor

That is about it for super sized sport quads.

In your first post, you mention that you know very little about quads, like Doc here said, the KFX 700 might be the best for you since it has an automatic transmission

I have rode dirtbikes and drive a Jeep (manual) so I think a manual gear box would suit me better. I believe I will search for a Raptor.
