HMM- watch out for any extremely loud ticking. UM....

..it's a honda- pretty much indestructable.

Front suspension is a common upgrade as some compare the 400's stock suspension to pogo sticks . Elka, fox, HLS, works, or even 450r shocks are common-

tips- it would all depend on what kind of terrain you ride.

Yeah I've heard bad things bout the 400ex having a bad valve tick or timing chain tick espically if you change the cams out I was lookin at the hot cams stage one..any input on that?..and also I've heard the shocks suck bad looking at doin the 450r shock swap once I get the money..I will be doin alot of trail riding tight trails lots of corners and hills and possibly riding some lake bottoms um I do have another question how long should an o ring style chain usually last..about a year?

Just depends how much you ride. My wife has a 0-ring chain on her 400ex and its been on their for 2 years and its still in great shape but I take the chain off and clean it about every other month due to we do about 200-400 miles a month riding our quads.
