What do you guys think will be the next bada$$ quad put into production? I have heard rumors of a 450EX with EFI, anyone else heard this. I bleed yamaha blue(actually black/white), but I am rooting for Honda to get off their a$$e$ and build something. Granted the 400EX is a nice quad, but when out of its element, it can't run with the big boys(I know - my brother has one). 400EX owners please don't start screaming, because you all know that I speak the truth. I know that you are wanting a new honda quad also. I would like to see a 450EX and a 650EX. Honda has to be working on something big. Right? What about the V-twin, is this the future for quad engines?? When can we expect to see a 1000cc quad?

01 Blk/Wht Raptor with lots of mods.

It won't be from Yamaha or Honda. I've been hearing rumors of a bombardier 2 stroke!

I have heard all kinds of rumors. 1st is a Honda with the new CRF450 motor or an XR650 motor. 2nd is a Yamaha with a YZ426F (YZ450F) motor. 3rd is a Bombardier with either a 380 2-stroke twin or a 400 4-stroke single. 4th is a Kawasaki with the 650 twin out of the Prarie with an auto clutch 5 speed. All are just rumors, with most of them being reported in a magazine at one time or another. I would think that a high performance 400-450 4-stroke from Yamaha, Honda, or Bombardier would be the most likely since they would be perfect for the GNC Pro class (current rules allow 250cc 2-strokes and 440cc 4-strokes) as long as a production rule is adopted. Honda did ask for 450cc 4-strokes after the rules for 2002 were finalized but were told that it would not be changed for this year.

They said they wouldn't change it unless there was proof of a 450 quad.

The response I saw was that Honda had plenty of notice for the rules meeting and that they shouldn't have waited until after the meetings were finished and the rules were set.

I would say a new Bomby is most likely. Next, maybe a 650 Kawi sport. No way Honda will introduce a new sport atv since sales are up and the legions of die-hards are still buying and loving the 400ex......although I would personally love to see an updated Honda atv!!!

i think they are intending to mention the 650 V-twin kawi by the way its noted 'radical in it's class'... or it could be a new 2-stroke from any maker.

as for honda asking about the 440cc rule, i think that the ATVA should stick to its guns... show us the quad first! then they'll consider a change.

Well, the more the better... I just don't see Honda doing this. They have a pretty poor track record of producing HIGH performance quads. Heck, they bowed to the pressure and stopped making the almighty 250R after what, 4 years. That was the last high performance quad they had and frankly, it never did much for me personally.
