jetting question

1. if you are jetting it do you have to pipe it.
2. if you pipe it do you have to jet it.
3. I bought a k&N power kit (comes with air filter and jet kit) do I have to pipe it it didn't say anything about it in the directions but one of my friends said i might have to.

I would apprecate any help, thanks.

what jetting is when you get your carb adjusted for the set-up of your quad at that time. When you do get a pipe in the future you will need to rejet for the difference in airflow and this cause a difference in the size of the jets that will be needed. You can even jet because of a change in temp, gas, height, premix, etc. Most of the times a new quad will have to be rejetted because the factories will set them up lean and then when you add goodies you will most likly has to go up will your piolet and main jets.

If you are very familiar with your ATV in stock form, you can feel when you need to rejet.

For example, if you take the air-intake cap off of a Z400, it will almost stall at initial take off. If you cut out the pea-shooter on the exhaust, you lose a enough top end that it's noticeable
