A blaster no jk it depends what your lookin for. Raptor is a great all around quad. A banshee is the best drager and works great in the dunes. If your lookin at mx 250r are a great quad which i wish they still made. Then theres still pretators, ds's and cannondales. Not to mention the new Z400. And hey if you want a good bang for your buck a blaster.

Simple question
Simple answer.
Look at what is winning races everyweek. And also what quad the majority races.
The reason for racing is to prove what quad is the best right?
Second what quad does everyone use as a comprasion when a new sport quad comes out?

The answer is the same to all these questions..... For now is the Honda 250r. It has been the answer for 16 years or so....

I'm not a honda fan by any means, never owned and never will own a 250r. But facts are facts.

I'm an ex-lt250r quadracer rider and now I own a cannondale speed. Soon I will have the quad the will take the place of the 'greatest quad ever built'. Not my words but the racing industies (on the greatest part).

And then there was the new kid can you Say GasGas. The quad name is Wild HP300 and you will all soon find out how it got it's name.

lt250r91,

Not to start a flame war here, but those machines that are winning the races are about as far from a stock 250R as a "stock" car is from a car you can buy from a dealer. I doubt if there is anything stock on some of these 250R machines any more. The price of building one of these machines is prohibitive (well into five figures)too.

I agree 100% but if their was something else available that was able to beat it on a week in week out bases. The 250r would be gone from the race scene. The 400ex, cannondales, & now z400 have took some of the thunder away, but pros still buy and build these machine up, because they know that the 250r can and will win races.
In stock form any one of these new machines, along with many other could beat the 250r, but do to tons of aftermarket parts thing machine is still number one.

I said it before I'm not a honda fan and will never own a 250r, but for now it's still the top dog. My point is that a quad that hasn't been manufactured since 89 is still the preferred race machine. I would like to see a new quad that would wipe this machine out of the racing scene. Why it's old and expensive to set-up and maintain for racing. Plus it's time that the atv industry gets off their lazy butts and build a true race machine, like what their did in the mid 80's. Cannondale has started this new wave, but some one needs to hit a homerun. I'm hoping GasGas can do this. If not maybe Suzuki or Yamaha will set-up. We all know Honda is dragging their feet.

I am in now way try to start a flame or tick any one off, these are my opinions on todays so called "High Performance" quads. I don't want a sport quad, want I want is a race ready a$$ kicking machine.

Well to be perfectly honest, Cannondale is the machine to beat. No other of the top "High Performance" machines come even close. The articles they do in all of these ATV rags are a xenophilic joke. "Hey, let's take the best high performance machines the big four have to offer and then test it against the lowest priced Cannondale." Yep, sounds fair to me, NOT! They should do a test of the best machines period. Pick a venue (MX, XC, etc.) and have at it. I think you'll consistantly find Cannondale coming out ahead in every test.

I think Cannondales are the true quad to beat too, until you need to back up!
